Jubilee Church Deepens the Faith of Resurrection Through Breaking Bread

March 2 | 2018

Jubilee Church has been meditating on the book of John on Wednesdays and Fridays from the beginning of the Lent. This week, they continued to look at the story in chapter 11. Through this chapter, the members could understand deeper how the son of God who came to earth had to be proved and testified as the son of God by revealing the power of resurrection.

God is the one who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not. Even though the power of resurrection was displayed through Jesus, Jews still didn’t believe Jesus but they wanted to kill Jesus all the more. However, God opened the way of Salvation through the death. This mysterious will of God is unfathomable.

Jubilee Church members gathered around the table and shared how the message spoke to them. They discussed whether they had the image of Martha who could not believe the power of resurrection in Jesus who can raise her brother in the present time but she instead believed that his brother will rise again in the resurrection at the last day which is a distant future.

Also, the members discussed whether Mary’s lack of faith is covered as the weakness of humanity and how Jesus reacted to the lack of disciples. The time of breaking bread went to deeper and the members could understand how our distrust and disbelief grieve the heart of God.

Just as Jesus said in verse 25 to 26, those who believe in Jesus can experience the power of resurrection and eternal life with our Lord.

May Jubilee Church members come to have a faith in the resurrection of the Son of God and experience this power during the Lenten season.
