Sunday Service Sermon: ‘Blessed Are the Poor in Spirit’

January 22 | 2018

On January 21, 2018, Jubilee Church held the third Sunday Service of January and Pastor Isabel Yoo preached the sermon from Matthew 5:3 titled ‘Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.’

The sermon emphasized how important for the people of heaven to possess the heart of meekness and humility just as Jesus Christ who humbled himself and obeyed even on the cross. The arrogance is the opposite of the humility that Satan makes us think we are strong and we don’t need to humble ourselves.

Pastor Isabel strongly encouraged the members to become strong by becoming weak and breaking down ourselves in front of God. This is a paradoxical truth and when we follow this way of humility, we will have a true peace in our heart and we can experience the kingdom of heaven in our lives.

Jubilee Church members had a lunch table fellowship prepared by the church member, Sam. Nashville Church shared the ongoing outreach programs with members and church will continue to request the prayers for 40 days evangelism and outreach. May God bring the new service attendees in this period.
